Trasimeno Glamping Resort

Are you ready to experience an unforgettable glamping vacation on Lake Trasimeno? Next spring we at Vacanze col Cuore will inaugurate the Trasimeno Glamping Resort (ex Camping Villaggio Italgest), a structure embraced by a wonderful landscape setting that will surprise you with its location and the quality of its services.

Nestled on the shores of Lake Trasimeno, in the Natural Park of the same name, Trasimeno Glamping Resort is developed in the heart of central Italy, right on the border between two enchanting regions such as Umbria and Tuscany. The new resort of our group is surrounded by greenery and directly overlooks the clear waters of the basin. In front of the resort is the imposing profile of the Polvese island, the largest of the three islands on Lake Trasimeno.

As you read on, you will discover some interesting facts about the area and the region that will host our campsite. We don't want to reveal too much, but rather offer you a small foretaste of what you can experience starting next season.

One thing is certain: the glamping vacation on Lake Trasimeno that you have always dreamed of will soon become a reality!

Lake Trasimeno

Lake Trasimeno

Set like a diamond between the Umbrian heights and the Tuscan valleys, Lake Trasimeno is the fourth largest lake in Italy with a surface area of 128 square kilometres. The basin is of tectonic origin and extends into the territory of the province of Perugia. This stretch of water manages to express its timeless charm in all seasons, being framed by lush vegetation and picturesque villages reflected in its waters.

The basin lies in the heart of the Lake Trasimeno Park, the largest of the seven Umbrian regional parks. This protected natural area was established with the aim of safeguarding and enhancing an area of very high landscape, historical and artistic value.

Territory and environs

Territory and environs

Lake Trasimeno is dotted with very characteristic millennia-old villages, cozy localities that hold interesting anecdotes and historical curiosities. Just to name a few, we recall Città della Pieve, Magione, Panicale and Castiglione del Lago, dominated by its mighty medieval fortress. By choosing Trasimeno Glamping Resort, you can embellish your vacation with truly magical cultural walks, exploring picturesque villages where time seems to stand still.

Three small islands also emerge from the waters of Lake Trasimeno: Isola Polvese, the largest and most relevant from a naturalistic point of view, Isola Maggiore, the only one still inhabited, and Isola Minore, which cannot be visited as it is privately owned.

Sport and outdoor activities

Staying at the Trasimeno Glamping Resort you can enrich your open-air holiday with many sporting activities. Developing in the Lake Trasimeno Regional Park, the area that embraces our structure will offer you exciting trekking and panoramic walks in contact with nature. You can also indulge in exciting cycling excursions, following the cycle paths that run along the lake or venturing out to discover the elegant Umbrian hills.

Lake Trasimeno is also the ideal destination for fun water sports such as windsurfing, rowing and sailing. If, on the other hand, you are looking for an experience to be shared with the whole family, you can embark on an evocative boat tour on the waters of the basin, admiring its villages and enchanting little islands from a privileged perspective.

Umbria: the "Green Heart of Italy"

Umbria: the

Surrounded by Tuscany, Marche and Lazio, Umbria is nicknamed the "green heart of Italy." This appellation is linked to the beauty and incredible variety of its natural landscapes, but also to the fact that it is one of the few landlocked regions in Italy.

From an environmental point of view, the territory is entirely crossed by the Umbro Marchigiano Apennines, and is able to offer unique scenery thanks to its unspoiled oases and boundless natural parks. Wide valleys dotted with forests, rivers, lakes and waterfalls alternate with rolling hills in which history, art and culture are interwoven.

The region's unique geographical location makes it an excellent starting point for pleasant nature excursions, as well as tours to the sumptuous art cities of central Italy, such as Rome, Florence, Siena, Perugia, Assisi and Orvieto.

In addition, Umbria is a land rich in fine culinary and wine traditions. Places such as Norcia, Spoleto, Montefalco and Bevagna look forward to welcoming you to savor some of its food and wine excellence, such as olive oil, wine or the famous truffle.
